Summer camps

...are a great activity for every age group.

Summer camps reinforce fundamentals and helps kids achieve their long term goals by keeping skiing and boarding fresh in athletes' minds even in the “off season”. It is similar to assigned summer reading, skiing in the summer prevents established skills from dwindling, helps reinforce good habits and introduces new ones skills. 

...expose athletes to more coaches in a different environment. 

They also provide the opportunity to work with different coaches, coaching styles and places.  Because the competition season is so far away Summer training provides kids the opportunity to work on technique without the pressure of a pending competition.  The focus is truly on repetition and refinement. 
 
Dry-land training and other team building activities take place in the afternoons. The afternoons at camp really establish friendships and a love for the . Athletes learn the importance of physical fitness as it relates to skiing and boarding and how being active year long makes it easier to compete during the season.
 
Travelling away from Colorado for summer camp creates an incredible opportunity for growth both on and off the hill. Athletes learn to manage early hours, intense physical exertion and their equipment. Asked to be responsible for themselves, athletes gain self-reliance and an appreciation for all the work that goes into being prepared for an event. Many athletes get to test new equipment for the first time at Summer Camps. The ideas of "testing skis" like the World Cup skiers and professional athletes is a powerful concept and one that leaves a lasting impression. Any athlete will confirm that summer camps are life shaping. The knowledge and mastery of summer camps combine with fun and adventure to create life long memories.

The chance to experience a new culture, navigate extended travel arrangements, customs and language barriers. Athletes benefit from testing their abilities in a controled environment with coaches along to provide assistance. Travel increases an athletes awareness of themselves in a world context and positions them as a citizen of the United States and what that implies. The differences in economic situations and the increased perceptions of the global climate of tolerance is incredibly valuable knowledge for anyone to possess at any age.
