2009 ALPINE SPRING/SUMMER ALPINE CAMPS

May: Arapahoe Basin Mini Camps:

*Full-Time Age Class J3 and Ability Program fees include May A-Basin Camps.*

Weekend, Three and Four day athletes strongly encouraged to attend.

Weather and snow conditions permitting, dates are tentatively scheduled for weekends in May and Memorial Day Weekend.

• Devo Mini Camp MAY 16th – 17th.

• GS Fundamentals Camp May 23nd-25th Memorial Day

• SL Fundamentals Camp May 29th-31st

Daily van service will be provided (Leave BestWestern 7:30 am), space is limited

• Focus will be on Slalom and Giant Slalom fundamentals and equipment testing, lots of directed free-skiing leading into gates and study of tactics plus video analysis.

*All weekend and part-time skiers are encouraged to attend at a cost of $50/day if signed up by April 20th $65/day after April 20th . Athlete responsible for any needed lift tickets. Non-Team Summit Members $65/day.

*IMPORTANT: Athletes must be pre-registered to participate in May camps(see registration page)

  • Daily groups will meet at the base area directly outside of the base lodge A frame.  Look for Team Summit coaches and jackets
  •  Focus will be on Slalom and Giant Slalom with technical skill development through directed free-skiing, video analysis and some gate training.
  •  Daily Schedule: 8:15 am to 3 pm. SUBJECT TO CHANGE

• Equipment Testing- When available manufacturers are prestent. 


June: Mt Hood Age Class Camp:

On-snow dates: June 20th-24th All Age Class athletes encouraged to attend this camp. Parents can accompany athletes on this trip and are welcome to lodge in the area. On hill and conditioning training is for athletes only.

*Cost is $1100 if signed up and paid in full before April 20th and $1300 if signed up AFTER April 20th.

• Focus is on technical and tactical skill development in Slalom and Giant Slalom, equipment testing and video analysis.

• Includes afternoon strength and conditioning activities(See Age Class Daily Plan)


Ability/J3 Mt Hood Camp:

This camp is intended for the serious athlete from J3 to Ability. Anticipated on-snow dates: June 20th-30th.

Cost: $2550 if signed up and paid in full by April 20th. $2750 if signed up AFTER April 20th. Balance Due Before Departure

*$500 non-refundable Deposit Due at time of registration full balance due before departure.

Focus is on technical and tactical skill development in Slalom and Giant Slalom, equipment testing and video analysis.

August: Expected location is Chile South America:

Expected dates are: August 5-19th. This camp is offered to Ability and J3 athletes. This camp is for the serious racer only, independence is a must. This camp offers international travel experience, winter training conditions and possible FIS races. Must have Passport. Camp duration is expected to be 14 days in the month of August. Estimated cost is $3500-$4500.

• Focus will be on technical and tactical skill development in DH, SG, GS and SL.

• Directed freeskiing, video, strength and conditioning and, travel.


General Info

*All athletes moving up in age group, for the (09-10) season, are encouraged to ski up with new group and coaches for spring and summer camps.

*All spring/summer camp participants must be USSA current.

* All HOOD CAMPS require a non-refundable $500 deposit
