7-Week Age Class Alpine Club

 Team Summit Age Class Alpine Club is an introduction to the world of competitive alpine racing.  The club program will follow a structured, teaching progression introducing the skier to the fundamentals of racing.  It will consist of 7 consecutive Saturday sessions, skiing with a coach and a group of like age and ability.  The Alpine Club will focus on fun with proper foundation and fundamental technique. The groups will be introduced to the basics of racing technique and tactics. We will also ski the entire mountain including the back bowls, trees and miles of groomed runs.  Big FUN!


Ages: 9 – 12
Dates: November 14, 2009 – December 26, 2009
Saturdays, 8:30am - 3:00pm 
Location: Rotating schedule: Abasin, Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone
Requirements: USSA competitor license
Program Fees: $600
Other:Registration fee of $20 per athlete to be paid at time of enrollment.
           Team jacket is NOT required.
           Volunteer Service Fee is NOT required.
           Discounted season passes are NOT available with this program. 
           5% early sign-up program discount is NOT available with this program 

 Age Class Competitive Program
This program is designed to introduce the age class athlete to a competitive goal oriented environment and to intrduce the young athlete to the fundamentals of ski racing technique and tactics, conditioning opportunities, and of course, to have FUN! 
Age Class athletes are introduced to goal setting, physical conditioning, technical and tactical skills, equipment management and miles of fun-structured free skiing.
Age Class racers are encouraged to compete in the Summit Foundation Cup and Rocky Mountain Division USSA Age Class race series.

*Pricing is set to reflect our on-snow season (Approximately November to mid-April.)
*The Competitive Age Class program is a 4 day a week program in Summit County. (Based on the schedule: Saturday-Sunday[full day] and Wednesday and Friday evenings at Keystone) *Afternoons are availble with prior notification and subject to schedule availability. 
    -Any days over 4 days in a week (Sun to Sun) The athlete will be charged for the  additional day(s) (See Punch Pass Program for extra day price details)
*Program does NOT include Pre-Season On-Snow training in Summit County.  (See Punch Pass Program for extra day price details)
*Program DOES include scheduled training during holidays.  Team Summit AgeClass program does not offer "holiday camps" but Team Summit does offer training during some days that fall on a holiday (see schedule)
*Spring Weekend May camps are NOT included.

On Snow:

Requirements: USSA youth competitor license, team jacket, The Rocky Mountain Super Pass and the Colorado Pass are required and must sign a Team Summit Code of Conduct/Club Policies.
*One year of devo participation or equivalent HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Middle School Early Release

Team Summit Age Class Early Release program is for the age class athlete interested in getting more exposure to day time skiing and works in conjunction with our J3 program and training schedule.  The focus for this program is FUN and Fundamentals.  Athletes will be introduced to all the basics of ski racing in order to help prepare the young ski racer for USSA competitions and future FIS racing.
Age Class athletes are introduced to physical conditioning, technical and tactical skills, and miles of fun-structured free skiing.

*DOES include scheduled training during holidays.  Team Summit AgeClass program does not offer "holiday camps" but Team Summit does offer training during some days that fall on a holiday (see schedule)
Note: Coaches will organize training around the age class race schedule.

Summit County Middle School/Team Summit On Snow Early Release Schedule
Approximately October 19, 2009 – Closing Weekend, 2010
     Middle School Early release begins October 19, 2009, & ends March 19, 2010
         -No Early Release March 20, 2009 through closing weekend, 2010-Weekend Only
         -Wednesday and Thursday, 1:10pm - 5:30pm: skiing, video & conditioning
         -Monday, & Friday: Parents are responsible for their children after school.
         -Saturday and Sunday, 8:15am - 3:00pm 
 *Parents are responsible for children on non-training days.
 
Location: Rotating Schedule: Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, & Keystone 
Requirements: USSA youth competitor (12-and-under) or USSA competitor (13-and-over) license, team jacket. To participate in Summit County Schools Early Release programs, athletes must maintain a 70% grade in every class on the prior quarter report card. No credits or refunds will be issued due to missed training days caused by academic ineligibility. The Rocky Mountain Super Pass and the Colorado Pass are required and must sign a Team Summit Code of Conduct/Club Policies.

Program Fees
:  $3,956
Transportation Pass: $525 - All Early Release athletes riding in a team van MUST purchase a transportation pass for daily pickups and drop offs at Middle School. This is necessary to cover rising gas prices and the high cost of insurance. No Pass, No Ride. Coaches will be taking attendance and reporting to the office.
